Special Secret Crafting

Crafting, for me, has always been a way to express myself. Maybe because I was that shy quiet girl or maybe because I like making beautiful things from nothing. I think you can tell a lot about a girl by looking at what she crafts.

This particular craft I made a couple weeks back for a very special friend. This lovely lady, KM, goes out of her way to make people smile and expects nothing in return. (I guess maybe that's the teacher coming out in her!) But I admire it.

Recently KM had to put Cooper, her 9 (I think he was 9; correct me if I'm wrong) year old chocolate lab, down. It was my turn to make her smile. I looked all over the blogworld trying to find the perfect gift. Nothing. I looked on Etsy and found a few things I liked but none that were perfect. I like things to be perfect. (Or perfect to my standards anyway) Not to mention $80, for a poor broke college student, is a little out of my price range! Plus I'm impatient. I wasn't about to wait for it!

I decided to make my own. So with a little bit of ashlyntime, a little bit of inspiration from Etsy, and a lot of love. I give you this:

(I wish I would have had some before pictures but like I said I'm impatient)

And there it is. I love it. She loved it. Or well she seemed like she loved it. If she didn't it musta been the teacher coming out in her! Oh and did I mention it only cost $1.50?

Ahh. That's exciting. My first blogpost is complete! More to come for sure!

P.S. Always remember that even big kids need a timeout!
